Avelo Airlines is back with some exciting news. The low-cost carrier has announced that it now offers 3 seating options: Standard, Stretch, and Stretch+.

Here’s what you need to know.

New Seating Options From Avelo

Avelo Airlines announced on May 6 that it would introduce 2 new seating options, Stretch and Stretch+, giving travelers more options to suit their budget and needs.

According to Avelo, Stretch seat pitch ranges from 32 inches to over 36 inches. Guests who purchase a Stretch+ seat will be seated in a row where the middle seat is intentionally unoccupied, a practice already in place on airlines such as Frontier Airlines and Spirit Airlines.

Avelo says guests can also purchase window and aisle seats before their flight.

“Stretch and Stretch+ reflects our commitment to giving travelers more choice and comfort while staying true to what sets us apart: convenient, reliable, and affordable service,” said Avelo Airlines Chief Commercial Officer Brian Davis. “We know comfort matters and this new option offers a better experience for those who want it, without changing the value our Customers expect from us.”

Both options will be available at AveloAir.com on all Avelo flights starting September 3, 2025.

Other Avelo News

Avelo has been in the news several times recently.

The airline continues to expand its route network, adding underserved secondary markets and competing with other low-cost carriers in the U.S.

The airline launched 13 routes and announced flights to the Bahamas in March. Later that month, the airline also added a crew base at Charlotte Concord and added even more routes.

However, the airline has also canceled flights on Tuesdays for most of the summer and has been criticized for agreeing to run deportation flights on behalf of the U.S. government. The airline has dedicated 3 of its planes to this service, which isn’t enough of its fleet to make it unable to fly on Tuesdays. Instead, that was a cost-saving decision for a period with typically low passenger counts, possibly costing Avelo more to fly the planes than it was recouping in ticket sales.

Final Thoughts

Avelo Airlines is following the lead of other budget airlines by introducing new seating options. For an extra fee, you can enjoy perks like a blocked middle seat and more legroom. These benefits will be available on all Avelo flights after September 3; however, you can add them to your reservation starting now.
